BIOGRAPHY
SARAH NEHAM SALZ
Sarah holds a BM and MM in piano performance from the University of Miami. She did post-graduate study on harpsichord with Frank Cooper. She studied Suzuki piano pedagogy with Haruko Kataoka of Japan and Bruce Anderson of Florida and in 2010 became a certified Suzuki Teacher Trainer in Piano. She founded the Suzuki Piano School of South Florida in 1986. She has directed the Suzuki Institute at the University of Miami since 1992. She and her late husband, guitarist/band-leader/composer/educator, Simon Salz founded the Young Musicians' Camp at the University of Miami in 2000. She is the Executive Director of the Friends of the Young Musicians' Camp, Inc.
YVETTE FOJO
Yvette Fojo has been a Miami-Dade County music teacher since 1989. During the summer she is the Dean of Student Affairs at the University of Miami Young Musicians' Camp.
She began her Suzuki training in 1985 and has been teaching privately since that time. She holds a B.S. In Music Education from Florida International University and a M.S. In Specific Learning Disabilities from Nova Southeastern University. In 2007 she achieved National Board Certification For Professional Teaching Standards in the area of Music Education.
She has a love for children and has the knowledge and skills to assist them in reaching their musical goals. She is also fluent in Spanish.
