"...it's not everyday that people get to meet Jazz legend(s) or the Miami Saxophone Quartet. The special guests were my favorite part. I also got to meet new people and enjoy everything with the friends I made. I really like everything about the UM camp..."

Program Description
The Intermediate Program is offered for all instruments - String, Brass, Woodwind, Piano, Guitar, Percussion/Drums, and Voice. There are five different areas of concentration: Voice, Jazz, Classical Instrumental, Piano, and Rock. Your child will receive instruction by our top level professional musicians and educators . Many of the 4 daily classes are held in a small group setting. Students will receive coaching on how to prepare for magnet school auditions. They will be exposed to more advanced students who will inspire and motivate them for the whole year! Many of our pre-college and honors program campers started in the Intermediate Program and now attend music magnet high schools. They will hear professional concerts and have fun performing in the camp talent shows and karaoke. All campers will be closely supervised, with one counselor per group of 10 campers. This program is geared to middle school age students who have had three to five years of training on their instrument or voice. Complete beginners are not eligible to apply. Middle school students who have had one to two years of training will be placed with other advanced beginners for the performance classes. Each session concludes with a final performace. Students attending both sessions will not repeat the same material learned in previous sessions.
